| Yay, Nelson is my lucky 10,000th visitor! You can claim your prize um, later I guess? I’ll figure something out! It’ll be out of this world, don’t you worry. Here’s to the next 10,000 visits.. I think I’ll be 90 when that happens! | | |

Merry belated Christmas and happy belated new year!
I officially started at Tregaskiss yesterday! But today I actually got to dig in to some of
the stuff I’m going to be doing for the next four months. My boss, the VP, asked me to sit in a meeting
today. Little did I know the meeting
would be seven hours long… non-stop! The
executives met with some lawyers from Chicago
to put together a case dealing with transfer pricing.
I have to say, it was really really interesting! Even though it was so long, I learned a lot
and think that corporate finance/law is so much more fascinating than it
sounds. Anyway, tomorrow I’m going to be
working directly with the lawyers, so I’m looking forward to that. I’ve been doing a lot of research on transfer
pricing and larger cases, I didn’t know it was such a hot topic in businesses
today.
Enough about my work life, this weekend is our 180
Retreat! I’m so excited! I have never been to a small retreat before,
and I think it will be a great time of learning and fellowshipping and meeting
with God away from busy life. I’m
sharing a room with Jackie, Ada
and Shirley, woohoo!
Man, I need 80 more hits before I reach 10,000! I feel like celebrating! If you’re lucky number 10,000 leave a comment
and I’ll… I don’t know what I’ll do. I
guess you’ll just have to see! :)

| Gah, I'm so sick right now! So sick that I did something I've never done before... go to a walk-in clinic!
On Saturday I woke up with a sore throat, then I lost my voice, then I started getting congested with headaches, now it's a full blown flu. I should have gotten my flu shot.
Anyway, the doctor said this is a viral infection, not a bacterial infection, so therefore he didn't prescribe me any drugs. Just told me to get lots of rest and take Advil Cold & Sinus for my congestion. Actually, I feel a lot better after taking one, so I guess that's good!
Sickness is interfering with my week though. Usually my activities are so neatly planned out and scheduled for me, but now I've had to cancel all my work engagements, teaching arrangements, school meetings, etc. All I want to do is sleep and lie around all day. I need rest to heal, but I have a huge proxy report due on Friday. Boo :(
I really hope I'll feel better by the end of the week and I can enjoy my few weeks of Christmas break! Let's party this time around! I'm excited!

| Millions of University students across this continent prepare for a huge chunk of their final mark, short-term memory spaces are being filled with useless textbook facts, libraries are filled to the brim, students are stressed out, coffee shops are making a fortune!
Is it weird that I find comfort in knowing that my fellow University friends are going through the same torment I am?
Finals are approaching, run for the hills!
For me though, it's just "final is approaching". Muahaha...
Good luck to all who are preparing, study hard! Christmas is just around the corner! Then there will be a whole new stress of buying presents and sending out cards. Agh, will this madness never end?!

| Ah, it's been so long since I've blogged! I'm feeling so restless these days, my attention span is like that of a flea. I'm really counting down the days until the semester is over, I'm so excited for Christmas to come! Speaking of which, I must rant. (sorry)
Today, Odette School of Business put up their "Holiday Tree" in the third floor atrium. What the heck is a holiday tree? That's the most bizarre thing I've ever heard of. I'm so tired of people taking away the true meaning of Christmas. Why has "seasons greetings" replaced "merry Christmas" on store windows? Why do Christmas carols sing about Santa and presents more than Jesus?
It really saddens me when all of these mainstream outlets have taken such a secular approach, but most people I talk to still refer to the December holidays as Christmas holidays. It's as if the elite few have taken it into their own hands to remove Jesus from Christmas, when society has not even requested this.
The saddest fact is that this nation and our neighbours to the south were founded on Christian beliefs and they set up Christmas to celebrate their Saviour. Now, two centuries later, Jesus is lost in mass consumerism and lovey-dovey sentiments.
