How did Xanga/blogging become such a nuisance to me? I'm not quite sure, but I figured that I should take this time to write a quick one. Why now? Because I'm cramming, why else? Maybe Facebook has taken up all my usual procrastinating time, it's much easier to lurk around then to actually type up something.

So in exactly one week, I'll be finished my schooling life! It's incredible to think that since 1988, I've been in school. That's 19 years of school. Let's say I went to school for 215 days each year (that's subtracting weekends and summers off), that would be approximately 4085 days of school! As my dad used to sing to me whenever my summer vacations would start, "no more teachers, no more books, no more teachers' dirty looks!" I guess I can now sing something along the lines of now it's time for boss' dirty looks! But oh well, a new direction in life is always good!

I got a new pair of glasses! It seems that my eyesight has not diminished TOO much to the point where I would need to permanently wear glasses, but I occasionally need to wear glasses to drive or read things far away. Here's a picture of me wearing them, I like them because they're half-rimmed and lighter. I, having a dinky nose, appreciate the fit of this pair. Sometimes it feels so weird when the nose rests aren't even resting on my non-existent nose.

<img title="WebCam_20070807_2150" style="border-style: none; So the picture is just sitting out there in the middle, hahaha... hey I forgot how fun blogging can be! I think I may get into the swing of things again. But alas, not today. I need to get back to my report. If anyone even visits this site anymore, so long for now!

The art of losing myself...

Last weekend I went to Battle Cry, which is the main stadium event for Acquire the Fire each year. There were around 35,000 screaming, hyper teenagers there! I’ll admit, at first I felt a little leery when Rich brought up the idea of going to ATF. I am twenty-three years old, hadn’t I outgrown these large teen-centered events? But after a bit of prodding, I decided that it would not be such a bad idea if I went.

I had not prepared my heart for that weekend. In actuality, on the day that we were supposed to go, I was feeling quite down in spirit. But once we entered the stadium, it was like all my weariness melted away and I just got goose bumps for the next ten minutes. Why? I don’t know! Nothing was even happening and the events had not even begun. For the next two days, the Lord continued to speak to me, mold me, and reveal to me all of the sins in my life. I was quite desperate to remove them from my life because the guilt was just too overwhelming. In the end, it felt so uplifting to just give it all to Him rather than to try and sort it out on my own. Praising God with a clean heart is so much better than one filled with bitterness and anger.

It has been a long while since I’ve felt the presence of God the way I did that first night. All the walls I had built around my life slowly began to chip away and I experienced true worship to God that night – something so foreign to me as of late. Since those amazing nights, my mindset and attitude have changed tremendously. I cannot recall a time in my four months of waking up at 7AM that I woke up with a smile on my face and worship in my heart, but I experienced that this week! I feel more joyous to be a child of God and anxious to spend time with Him.

I just wanted to share how God has sanctified my withered heart this past week and is slowly revealing His love for me still. It only took a stadium of 35,000 people, passionate speakers and Hillsong United leading worship to snap me out of my rut. Haha, I’m not high maintenance you know…

Weeeeee...

Wow, what an absolutely beautiful day today! Thank you Lord, thank you for the sun shining and the cool brisk air! I can’t believe it’s finally warmer out, could this be the first signs of spring upon us?

Indications of spring:

- Roll up the Rim is back! I really hope I am luckier this year than last. Last year I think I only won one coffee the entire time. Speaking of which, I have a cup of coffee right beside me right now. I haven’t rolled the rim yet, but here’s hoping!

- Daylight Savings! Apparently this year we’re doing it a bit early, but I don’t mind! That means longer days and more sun. Woohoo!!

- Weddings are abounding! Everyone is getting married, what fun! I love the warmer months and everyone getting married. Good combo.

On a side note, they’re playing country music in the office today. The Detroit radio station really likes to play older country songs and I’m just reminiscing to songs by Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks and Shania Twain. Good times, I hope they keep the station on here for a while! Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather, I’m stuck at work… :(

:: edit

Uh oh, I just signed up for Facebook. I see my friends list growing before my very eyes...did I make a very big mistake? Must...have........control..........

What's going on?

I have tried really hard not to post too many rants on my Xanga, but I really have to get this off my chest. These are just things I want to get out there, and remind us all that we should not believe everything that is fed to us, but to do our own research.

Two rants; semi-related.

If you watched the past Superbowl, you’ll probably remember the Snickers commercial where two guys start eating the chocolate bar at either ends and end up kissing. They freak out and try to act “manly” afterwards by ripping out their chest hair. It was a pretty funny commercial and we all had a laugh. But apparently, it was an anti-gay commercial targeted at bashing homosexuals. The homosexual community demanded an apology from Snickers, which they later on gave. The commercial will now be pulled from the air.

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t really enjoy seeing two grown men kissing, but for goodness sakes, it was not a gay-bashing commercial! Why does the gay community always pull the gay card? Honestly, it is ridiculous to continuously accuse every straight human being of either being a homophobe or a gay basher. Political correctness has become so over the top that it, in and of itself, needs to be more politically correct. If two straight men find themselves lip-locked, YES they are going to freak out. The men in the commercial had an over-exaggerated reaction to get a few laughs, not to bash the gays.

You can only cry wolf so many times. These outspoken activists keep causing a riot over the smallest things, and soon nobody will even bat an eyelash when something major actually happens. They can blame Rosie.

Reference: Click here

Secondly, I have to talk about the Democratic Party. Yes, national media is very biased in their reporting style, with a heavy inclination to report in favour of liberal policies and viewpoints. But when they flat out lie to the public and are able to get away with it, where are we supposed to turn for objective news reporting? The Democrats are stating that the American economy is and has been in a serious downturn for the past few years, implying that George Bush has been doing a poor job in this regard. They are saying that the gap in the overall society has been increasing where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Fact is, the United States have been experiencing forty-one uninterrupted months of job growth, which is longer than even during Bill Clinton’s “prosperous” reign – accomplishing all this while fighting a war in the Middle East no less! Sure, the rich are getting richer, but the poor are also getting richer! So, how come none of the big news networks sought to find the facts and point out the Democrats’ lies? Because there is a huge bias in North America leaning heavily on the left.

It’s amazing how filtered the news can become. I know this is a huge blanket statement, but I definitely find that the liberals have ruined the United States image for the rest of the world by joining in the bashing of their own country and making a fool of themselves just to make the current President look bad. How pathetic a way to gain a vote. And even with their dirty tactics in the last Presidential campaign with Kerry, Bush still came out on top.

Imagine that.

Reference: Click here

58 movies

SUPPOSEDLY if you've seen over 85 films, you have no life.
Merry belated Christmas and happy belated new year!

I officially started at Tregaskiss yesterday! But today I actually got to dig in to some of
the stuff I’m going to be doing for the next four months. My boss, the VP, asked me to sit in a meeting
today. Little did I know the meeting
would be seven hours long… non-stop! The
executives met with some lawyers from Chicago
to put together a case dealing with transfer pricing.

I have to say, it was really really interesting! Even though it was so long, I learned a lot
and think that corporate finance/law is so much more fascinating than it
sounds. Anyway, tomorrow I’m going to be
working directly with the lawyers, so I’m looking forward to that. I’ve been doing a lot of research on transfer
pricing and larger cases, I didn’t know it was such a hot topic in businesses
today.

Enough about my work life, this weekend is our 180
Retreat! I’m so excited! I have never been to a small retreat before,
and I think it will be a great time of learning and fellowshipping and meeting
with God away from busy life. I’m
sharing a room with Jackie, Ada
and Shirley, woohoo!

Man, I need 80 more hits before I reach 10,000! I feel like celebrating! If you’re lucky number 10,000 leave a comment
and I’ll… I don’t know what I’ll do. I
guess you’ll just have to see! :)
